Live-in-caregiver
Position

Job Description

As a Live-in-caregiver (LIC), you'd be living in a shared home with the individual in need of support. This would be your primary home that would provide you a private bedroom, along with access to a full bathroom, kitchen and parking. In some cases, you may have your own private full bathroom as well. LIC's can agree with the family to do this for a certain number of years (1, 2, 3, 4 etc.). In return, the LIC would live rent free, along with the groceries and utilities being covered.

LIC's are paid a competitive hourly rate. The work schedule would be provided ahead of time to be agreed upon first. The work schedule can range from part-time to full-time. In cases where a LIC agrees to ensure availability at night for emergencies, if their sleep time is interrupted, they will be paid for that time worked. If the LIC's sleep is interrupted to such an extent that they are unable to get at least five hours of sleep, they will be paid for the entire sleep time period. When off-duty, LIC's are free to leave the premise and to engage in their own personal pursuits during this time.

To generalize the responsibilities of a LIC, it can involve (but not limited to) meal prepping, house cleaning and organizing, setting up activities, charging their clients devices (phone, ipad etc.), grocery shop, mobility assistance, dressing, bathing, laundry and home safety. The traits that are looked for in a LIC is their patience, compassion, kindness, respectfulness, the ability to understand and communicate, along with their alertness.

Background checks are required. For questions, you can send an email or send a call here.

Important: Specific needs of the client will be provided once a family is connected.
